Foodiaz is a mobile application offering both free and premium versions that provides the best recipes based on the user's pantry. The app aims to simplify meal planning by recommending recipes using available ingredients.

Initially, the backend services had several bugs that hindered effective frontend integration for the free version. The outdated .NET version posed compatibility issues, and the quality of the dataset negatively impacted user experience. Additionally, mapping raw scraped data to a master ingredient list required significant effort.
Solutions
- Backend Bug Fixes: Resolved backend issues to ensure seamless integration with the frontend for the free version.
- Upgrading .NET Version: Upgraded the outdated .NET version to ensure compatibility and support from Microsoft.
- Premium Version Development: Backend services for the premium version, including advanced features and improved functionality.
- Product Development Collaboration: Worked closely with the product owner to understand and deliver premium version requirements.
- Data Quality Improvement: Guided and supported the data administrator in using large language models (LLMs) to improve dataset quality by accurately mapping raw ingredients to the master list.
- Admin Dashboard: Admin dashboard using React Js for better data management and user monitoring.
- International Team Collaboration: Successfully collaborated with an outsourced team from Mexico for the mobile app development using Flutter, overcoming time zone differences and ensuring smooth communication.
Results and Impact
The free version of Foodiaz has been successfully launched in the USA market, providing users with reliable recipe recommendations. The backend improvements and upgraded .NET version have enhanced app performance and user experience. The ongoing development of the premium version promises to offer even more advanced features and better data quality.
